A little bit of history...
|
|
Messrs Tommy Bartley and John Ward founded Bartley & Ward in 1899 they took over a building firm run by the Gates family established in 1855 and by the early 1900's plumbing, decorating and funeral work were carried out from premises at Cross Keys and Three Bridges Road.
|
|
In 1930 Hall Beddel & Co took over the business and moved its location to 58 Haslett Avenue West where it continued until 1969 when it ceased all trading other than as Funeral Directors and was sold back into family ownership.
|
|
Today Ballard & Shortall the successors to the business having had to move yet again is located at 10 Haslett Avenue West, a former school and teahouse.
|

|
