A little bit of history...
|

Attree & Kent are proud of their history as the City's oldest funeral directors, dating back to 1780.
|
|
Records dating from 1824, we don't know what has happened to the earlier ones, were recently discovered in an attic in the former premises and have been deposited with the East Sussex Record Office, having first been displayed in a public exhibition.
|
|
Historians have been thrilled by the discovery of the records, which whilst we knew of their existence, we had no idea of just how wide ranging they were. They give a complete picture of our activities over the last 160 years and the services that were provided, making them a valuable social and historical resource.
|
|
As well as being undertakers, we were also auctioneers and valuers and the records provide comprehensive details of various properties in Brighton & Hove, together with minute books and company records to complete the picture.
