These are as the name implies, pre-paid funeral plans, providing for either a single payment or limited instalments on the current cost of a funeral. Once paid it provides for a specified type and style of funeral or may be personalised to specific requirements. The plan guarantees that the Funeral Director's costs will not rise.
The monies for such plans are placed under the management of Independent Trustees who in turn are watched over by Custodian Trustees both of whom have a responsibility to see that the fund, which is placed with professional Investment Fund Managers, is properly managed in order to meet the commitments entered into. The fund is valued annually by an Actuary in order to confirm the availability of monies to fund funeral commitments.
The plan does not however cover the cost of purchasing a grave, where burial may be selected, but may include a contribution towards burial as an alternative to the cremation fee provided within the type of plan selected.
The pre-payment scheme enables a type of funeral plan to be selected, once paid for all matters are complete thus giving peace of mind, certain in the knowledge that those left behind are relieved of the burden.
We are aware of other schemes available through various organisations and from larger companies. Having had the opportunity of considering the schemes on offer, we have concluded that it would not be appropriate for us to offer them.
We consider that this plan, with its choice of funeral arrangements, represents the best value and safest haven for your funds.
